90th Peacock Reunion conducted

The 90th Peacock reunion was Aug. 13 at Jennings Township Conservation Club with 141 people in attendance.

The Rev. Donald Pruett gave the invocation at noon.

Vice President Roscoe Peacock called the reunion to order.

Eunice Lacey and Gina Gengelbach gave a memorial for the nine people who had died since last year: Earl Peacock, Barbara Bowman, Nancy Mayhew, Cory Needler, Roscoe and Berdine Peacock, Floyd and JoAnn Peacock and Earl Peacock.

Election of officers for 2018 was conducted. They are Roscoe Peacock, president; Terry Peacock, vice president; Lacey, secretary and treasurer; Mike Payne, Bob Peacock and Everett Peacock, refreshment committee; and Angie Jones, Lisa Conner and Billy Snowden, program committee.

The program committee gave gifts to Cindy and Joe Clements of Florida, traveling the longest; Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Peacock, most children present (11); Sue Payne, oldest woman present; Felix Peacock, oldest man present; Everett Peacock, most gifts given away today; Eunice Lacey, person wearing the most peacocks; and Jasper Payne, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Payne; Roscoe Peacock Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Peacock; Bow Bow Allis, son of Casey Hamilton; Mavis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Payne; and Eritrea Peacock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tyson Peacock, all babies younger than one year of age.

The children spent the rest of the day playing on the playground, and others played horseshoes and took pictures.

Next year’s reunion will be Aug. 12 at the same location with a carry-in dinner at 12:30 p.m.
