SEYMOUR, INDIANA

Mrs. Janet Jean Schurman, 77, of Seymour, passed away on August 26, 2017, at Lutheran Community Home. She was born on April 21, 1940, in Seymour, to the late Ernest and Juanita (Gullett) Hildreth. On August 19, 1958, she married Raymond Schurman; he preceded her in death on February 21, 2003. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Seymour. After retiring from Aisin Industries after many years of service, she was a grandma at Margaret R. Brown Elementary.

She is survived by her children, Don (Nancy) Schurman, Christi Speer, and Raymond ‘Todd’ (Melissa) Schurman; grandchildren, Maranda (Nathan) Blair, Abby Speer, and Audrey Speer (Austin Frady); great grandchildren, Draiden and Dawson Blair; brothers, Steve Hildreth and Doug Hildreth; and sisters, Pauletta Sturdevent and Sherry White.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; grandson, Todd Schurman; and sisters, Judy Smith and Rosie Goforth.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 31, at 2:30 pm, with Revs. Ralph Blomenberg, Philip Bloch and Jimmy Rodriguez. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 30, from 4-8 pm and at the church on Thursday from 1:30 pm until time of service.
