Braves drop MSC match

SCOTTSBURG

Scottsburg defeated Brownstown Central 4-1 Thursday in a Mid-Southern Conference tennis match.

The Braves point came from Jackson Lahrman and Adam Pottschmidt ,with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles.

The Braves are 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the MSC.

Cougar places first

OSGOOD

Trinity Lutheran ran in a meet with South Ripley and Milan at Jac-Cen-Del on Thursday.

In the boys’ race, Cougars junior AJ Goecker won in 17:25.

Jodi Goecker placed sixth in 23:53 and Abby Hildreth placed 24th (37:04) in the girls’ race for the Cougars.

Trinity loses road game

SOUTHPORT

Southport blanked Trinity Lutheran 6-0 on the Cardinals’ field Thursday night, dropping the Cougars to 1-3 on the season.

The Cardinals out-shot the Cougars 24-6 as Maddie Bell, Savanna Setty and Sidney Hoene each attempted two shots for Trinity.

Cougars keeper Vidalis Montanez had 20 saves.

Owls barrage Warriors

SCOTTSBURG

Addison Chandler, Alyssa Perry and Mia Schrader scored two goals apiece to lead Seymour to an 11-1 win at Scottsburg Thursday afternoon.

The Owls shelled the Warriors with 27 shots.

Eight different Owls recorded a goal in the match.

Aidan Hiester had a goal, assist, and the win in goal as the Owls improved to 2-0.

VOLLEYBALL

Rams best Paoli

PAOLI

Paoli topped Medora 25-12, 25-10, 25-15 to drop the Hornets to 1-5 for the season.

Kailen Flynn was 14-for-19 with six kills in attacks and 6 of 6 in serves, while Katie Beesley was 9-9-1 in attacks and 7-7 with an ace serving.

The Hornets (1-5) had nine attack kills and served three aces as a team.
