Allison Swaney and D.J. Thomas, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado, were married at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Deer Creek Valley Ranch in Bailey, Colorado. A reception with dinner and dancing followed in the historic barn. Termaine Atwater officiated.

The bride is the daughter of David and Julie Swaney of Seymour, and the groom is the son of D.J. and Jackie Thomas of Mobile, Alabama.

Sarah Bourgeois, sister of the bride, of Palmer, Akansas, was matron of honor in absentia. Becky Curtis, childhood bestie, of Louisville, Kentucky, was maid of honor. Amy Engleson and Kirsten Pecua, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Allanna Anstaett of Dayton, Ohio, and Nicole Torres of Santa Monica, California, were bridesmaids.

Steven Thomas of Mobile, Alabama was best man. Quincy Rhinehart, Chase Thornton, Alex Thompson and Dan Saunders were groomsmen.

Madilyn Swaney of Seymour and Peyson Atwater and Teagan Atwater, both of Mobile, Alabama, were flower girls. Kolten Atwater of Mobile, Alabama, was ring bearer.

The bride wore an all lace fit and flare gown by Jovea with a Queen Ann neckline and intricate accents with point d’esprit lace. The gown was adorned with a beaded tulle belt. A one-tier fingertip silver edge crystal veil was worn. An all crystal headband, crystal chandelier tear drop earrings and a diamond pearl tear drop necklace, a gift from the groom, were worn.

D.J. is a major in the Air Force at Peterson AFB Space Command. Allison is a captain in the Air Force, Schriever AFB, Space Command.
