The IHSAA Executive Committee approved the sectional assignments in baseball and softball for the next two school years.

Sectional assignments for other team sports were announced May 1.

The biggest change was in baseball’s Class 3A Sectional 30, where Providence — who was bumped up from Class 2A due to the success factor rule — joins Brownstown Central, Charlestown, Corydon Central, North Harrison, Salem, Scottsburg and Silver Creek.

Class 4A Sectional 15 will feature Bedford North Lawrence, Floyd Central, Jeffersonville, Jennings County, New Albany and Seymour.

Class A Sectional 61 is made up of Crothersville, Trinity Lutheran, West Washington and Orleans. Medora was listed on the IHSAA report, but Hornets athletics director Brad McCammon said the school doesn’t have a team.

There were no changes to softball sectionals for county teams.

Class 4A Sectional 15 and Class A Sectional 61 are identical to baseball.

In Class 3A Sectional 30, softball’s the same as baseball, minus Providence.
