County library offering storytime program

The Jackson County Public Library is offering free storytime programs Sept. 5 through Nov. 28 in the Seymour Library Kidz Korner Program Room.

The library’s storytimes are 30-minute sessions that incorporate age-appropriate early literacy activities that include stories, rhymes and songs. There will be no classes Oct. 9 or 30. Registration is required.

On Mondays, there will be Good Night Storytime at 6 p.m., and children may come in their pajamas and bring their stuffed friend for a sensory-friendly evening. Parents can bring literacy into their child’s bedtime routine with this calm version of storytime.

On Tuesdays, Good Morning Storytime programs are planned for babies (0 to 24 months) at 9:30 a.m.; toddlers (25 to 36 months) at 10 a.m.; and preschoolers (3 to 5 years) at 10:30 and 11 a.m.

An adult must accompany children ages 36 months and under to the storytimes. Parents and caregivers of children ages 3 to 5 years old may attend the storytime session with their child or wait in the Kidz Korner until the session ends.

Information: Visit the library at 303 W. Second St., Seymour; call 812-522-3412, option 2; follow the library on Facebook; or visit myjclibrary.org/events
