The congregation of Spraytown Free Methodist Church invites the public to attend the church’s 100th anniversary celebration Sunday.
Former Pastor Jay Vincent will be preaching during the morning worship service, which begins at 11 a.m., and the celebration service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a performance by the Glory Road band.
There will be other special singers and Sunday school teacher recognition, and Vincent and former pastors Ed Davis and Doug Gamble plan to share memories during the afternoon service.
Various historical books, pictures, hymn books and other items will be on display, and new history books will be available for purchase. Those attending can share memories and renew friendships. Refreshments will be available after the celebration service.
To avoid a construction detour, those coming from the north can take Interstate 65 south to State Road 11 at Exit 55 and continue into Seymour. They can then turn right on Sixth Street (State Road 258) and go about 13 miles before turning right on State Road 58. The church will be on the left in Spraytown.
