The cause of an early-morning fire that destroyed a mobile home Sunday morning on Seymour’s south side remains under investigation, police report.
No one was injured in the fire reported at 4:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Peak Avenue in Village Green Mobile Home Park.
Police officers and firefighters responding to the fire were told there were reports of people trapped inside the mobile home, according to a news release from the Seymour Police Department.
Entry into the home was not possible because of the intensity of the fire and collapse of parts of the structure, police said.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly and a search of the residence revealed no one was inside, police said.
