Pitcher Zack Brown was promoted from the Class A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to the Class-A Advanced Carolina Mudcats on Tuesday.
Brown, a Seymour native that’s a member of the Milwaukee Brewers’ organization, comes to the Mudcats after going 4-5 and pitching a 3.39 ERA over 18 games and 13 starts for the Timber Rattlers.
The 22-year-old totaled 84 strikeouts over 85 innings of work, with just 34 walks, before transferring to the Mudcats.
First established in 1991, the two-time Southern League Champion Mudcats are in their 27th consecutive season of baseball at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C.
The Mudcats are members of the Carolina League, which features 10 teams across the Carolinas, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.
