Lowell Rex Gibson, 77, of Brownstown, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Monroe Hospital, Bloomington, Indiana.

He was born on August 2, 1939, in Clearspring, Indiana, to Hubert H. (Nig) Gibson and Verla Ollis Gibson Johnson, both of who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Brownstown High School in 1956. He was a member of Medora Christian Church. He was a mason brick layer and a rural mail carrier for Medora routes for several years. He served in the Army for several years.

He loved music. He attended shooting matches.

He is survived by a daughter, Kelly (Jim) Lawson, Medora, Indiana. He has two grandchildren, Dusti (Thomas) Hanner and J. Jacobi (Sally) Lawson. He has two great grandchildren, Gracie Brewster and Crayton Hanner. He has two sisters living, Wilma Lee, Columbus, Indiana, and Becky (Gary) Fisher, Medora, Indiana.

He had an infant daughter preceded in death, Star Ann Gibson. A sister, Betty England, preceded in death.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 4, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Hague Funeral Home, Medora, Indiana with Pastor Chris Campbell officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 3, 2017, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hague Funeral Home, Medora, Indiana, and on Friday from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will be at Proctor Cemetery, Lawrence County, Indiana. There will be graveside military rites.
