Library offering book discussion groups

Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups plan to gather to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in August at the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries.

The groups are open to adults and teens, and there is no attendance requirement. The books are available to check out at the library checkout desks.

The Friday Night Book Club will discuss its monthly book at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at Chili’s, 2085 E. Tipton St., Seymour. Information services assistant Janet Hensen will lead the review of “Never Let Me Go” by Kazuo Ishiguro. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat. Sign up for the program as you check out the book from the checkout desk.

The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets the third Wednesday of each month, will gather and share thoughts on “The Christmas Train” by David Baldacci at 6 p.m. Aug. 16.

Fantastic Fiction will discuss “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins at 11 a.m. Aug. 18 at the Seymour Library. Led by volunteers Ann Schwein and Sharon Kamman, this group meets on the third Friday of each month.

The Medora Library book discussion group will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 28 to talk about “Stealing Lumby” by Gail Fraser. The group meets on the fourth Monday of each month.
