Scouts Night set for Seymour schools

0

Join Scouts Night will be at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at each Seymour public school and at St. Ambrose Catholic School.

Cub Scout leaders will be available at each location to offer information about the program and on the three local packs (526, 528 and 529).

Cub Scouts may join as early as kindergarten through the Lions program, which is now in its second year. These boys work with their adult partners (usually a parent or grandparent) on age-appropriate lessons and games, so reading skills aren’t required.

For each level of Cub Scouts, the boys have the chance to enjoy educational and fun activities that allow them to earn belt links on specific topics. Scouts also have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of special activities such as the Shoot-o-Ree, Fish-o-Ree, camping and pack events.

To ensure a great experience, each Cub Scout leader undergoes training, including Youth Protection Training, in order to ensure a safe environment.
