Dr. Olivia Walker recently joined the staff of VisionFirst and will work in the firm’s Seymour and Salem offices.

Walker, a 2011 graduate of Orleans High School, received her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University this spring. She attended Bellarmine University for two years before being accepted early into the IU optometry program.

Her practices involves full-scope optometric care, which includes eye exams for all ages, diagnosing and treating ocular disease and providing pre- and post-operative care for cataract and vision correction surgery.

She also fits all major brands of contact lenses, including those that correct for astigmatism and presbyopia, and specialty contact lenses, such as gas permeable and scleral lenses.

Walker will join Dr. Carol Hickey and Dr. Jack Hedrick at the Salem office. For now, she will be splitting her time between VisionFirst offices in Salem and Seymour.

The Orleans native is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana Optometric Association.

The VisionFirst office at 631 E. Tipton St., Seymour, was founded by Dr. Donn Downing in 1956, and his son, Dr. D. Barry Downing remains with the office.
