Fish fry will benefit Joe Jackson Hotel


A fish fry to benefit the Joe Jackson Hotel restoration project will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Whistle Stop, 2379 S. Main St., Vallonia.

Fish dinners, including two sides, will be available for $7, sandwiches are $4.50 and desserts are extra.

Proceeds will benefit the restoration of the hotel at 2420 S. Main St. It was built in 1914 and is listed on the federal and state registers of historic places. The hotel is now owned by the Fort Vallonia Days Association.

Fish fries are conducted on the second Saturday of each month during the warm-weather months.
