Travis Eldon Baker, 75, of Seymour passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, at his home.

Born Aug. 5, 1941, in English, he was the son of Melvin E. and Alice Sauerheber Baker.

He graduated from English High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having retired after 38 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, golf, baseball, basketball, bowling, betting on horses and was an avid IU basketball fan.

He is survived by his son, Jarid A. (Pam) Baker; stepdaughters, Leann and Renea Scales; grandsons, Tristan Rogers, Pierce and Waylon Baker; granddaughters, Russia and Keanna Jones, Patricia Perkins and Julia Henry; great-grandson, DeAndre Jones; four sisters, Wanda Wright, Myrtle Bennett, Berdie Senn and Marjorie Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and his caregivers and best friends, Randy and Kay Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Norma Jean.

The funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Harding officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation and Kidney Foundation.
