Brownstown man hurt in tractor accident

Update at 2:11 p.m.

A 59-year-old Brownstown man was listed in critical condition Monday afternoon at an Indianapolis hospital where he was taken after being run over by a tractor earlier in the day, police report.

Kevin A. Hackman complained of leg and chest pain after the incident reported at 9:13 a.m. in the 4400 block of South County Road 400E in Grassy Fork Township, according to a report from Jackson County Officer Adam Nicholson.

Nicholson said Hackman was found lying in a yard by a friend, Brian Elliott, who told police when he arrived, the tractor was still running and it had run into a nearby residence.
