Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus’s 47th annual commencement celebration was May 13 at the Columbus East High School auditorium.
Jordan Jones of Seymour, president of the student government association, welcomed the Class of 2017, which included 294 graduates, and others to the celebration. Jones received a Bachelor of Science in business.
Tony Moravec, president and chief executive officer of Blairex Laboratories Inc. in Columbus, gave the address. He also is president and cofounder of Applied Laboratories Inc.; owner of Zaharako’s Ice Cream Parlor and Museum; and a principal in the Upland Brewing Co. of Bloomington.
