Children can brighten downtown with mural

Young artists can help put a little more color into downtown Seymour by helping paint a community mural.

Children can participate in the project from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday if weather allows.

Darnell Dukes, executive director of Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, has painted the outline of the mural in the alley behind the Community Agency Building in an effort to brighten up the downtown with more public art.

The mural will be completed like a paint-by-number so every child has a designated object to paint.

Children younger than age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
