SEYMOUR

Ella Marie Beam, 90, of Seymour passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, at Lutheran Community Home.

Born Jan. 31, 1927, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Thomas and Tresie Ella Bunch Surber. On Jan. 31, 1946, in New Castle, she married Alfred Nelson Beam.

She graduated from New Castle High School in 1945 and was a former member of First United Methodist Church. In 2003, she moved to Seymour and became a member of Central Christian Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed traveling and being with her family. She showed a loving heart to everyone she knew.

Survivors include her daughter, Sonna (Howard) Wente of Seymour; three grandchildren, Dave Sean and Natalie Marie Beam and Valerie Marie McDonald; four great-grandchildren, Annemarie, Jacob, Rachel Marie and Caleb Neal; and her sister-in-law, Marjorie Ellen Edwards.

Besides her parents and husband of 63 years, she was preceded in death by her son, David Alan (Sherrie) Beam; five brothers; and three sisters.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Sugar Grove Cemetery in New Castle.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m until time of service Tuesday.
