Any way you slice it: Paint the Town set

The Paint the Town crew with Southern Indiana Center for the Arts will offer a fun acrylic painting April 29 during Brownstown/Ewing Main Street Artsfest.

Participants will paint a “Be a Pineapple” saying on a 16-by-20-inch canvas featuring a tall pineapple and pineapple slices.

“This lesson will be done on a black canvas,” instructor Darnell Dukes said. “Participants will stroke on paint in some areas and learn to use the chisel edge of their brush for other areas. Besides the pineapple pattern, the writing will be provided, too. We want participants to go home with a piece they can be proud of, and patterns have been proven to help.”

Paint the Town is a social painting group class where no prior experience or talent is required.

This class will begin at 1 p.m. at Deck’d Out Photography, 202 S. Main St., Brownstown. All supplies and instructions are included in the price of $32.50. SICA members get a 20 percent discount. Water and soft drinks will be provided.
