Habitat workshop planned at refuge

A free backyard bird habitat workshop will be from 1 to 3 p.m. April 22 at the visitor center at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, 12985 E. U.S. 50, Seymour.

The workshop will cover the basic needs of birds, bird-friendly plants and simple ways people can make their yards attractive and safe places for birds.

Participants in the workshop who preregister also will receive free bird-friendly perennial plants to take home (as long as the supply lasts) courtesy of the Muscatatuck Wildlife Society.
