James Lee Copeland, 80, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Seymour Crossing.

Born May 24, 1936, in Vallonia, he was the son of Jason “Jake” and Gladys Morgan Weeds, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 1, 1956, in Brownstown, he married Lois Fear, who survives.

James was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. He retired from Hardigg Manufacturing at Walesboro after many years of service.

Other survivors besides his wife of 60 years include two daughters, Teresa (David) Foster and Lisa Copeland; three grandchildren, Jason (Christy) Foster, Dan Foster and Michele McClintock; three great-grandchildren, Maryka and Ty Foster and Luke McClintock; a great-great-grandson, Wyatt Carmer; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian McDonald; and a brother, Larry Copeland.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Rodriguez officiating.
