Hickory comes to North Vernon March 12 when the Hoosiers 30th Anniversary Tour visits the historic Park Theatre Civic Centre in downtown North Vernon.

Members of the Milan High School basketball team that won the state title in 1954 will be in attendance along with members of the Hickory Huskers from the movie “Hoosiers.”

The activities begin at 1 p.m. with a VIP event, where attendees will have exclusive access to members of both teams for photographs, autographs, conversation and refreshments.

At 2 p.m., the movie “Hoosiers” plays in the theater. Following the movie, there will be a meet-and-greet autograph session onstage with players from both teams. The first 250 people attending the movie wearing their letterman’s jacket or sweater will receive a special commemorative gift sponsored by German American Bank.

During the events, new merchandise items will be available for purchase from the Milan ’54 Hoosiers Museum featuring photographs, clothing and other items celebrating Milan’s historic run to the 1954 state championship.

Admission prices are $10 for adults and students and $5 for children 12 and younger. This includes admission to the movie and the meet-and-greet session onstage after the movie. For the VIP event, admission is $20, which includes exclusive access to the players prior to the movie along with the movie and meet-and-greet session.

All proceeds from the day’s events will support the Milan ’54 Hoosiers Museum in Milan.
