Brownstown woman dies of injuries sustained in wreck

Updated at 6:21 p.m. Sunday

A Jackson County woman died of injuries she sustained in a personal-injury wreck Sunday afternoon on Interstate 65, five miles north of Seymour.

Kimberly Sneed, 47, of Brownstown was pronounced dead at Columbus Regional Health where she was taken after the wreck, reported at 12:10 p.m., Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said.

Two others injured in the wreck, Anthony Bonadonna, 72, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, and his wife, Diana Bonadonna, 56, were taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, said Wheeles, the public information officer for the Indiana State Police Post at Versailles.

The conditions of the Bonadonnas, who were later transferred by ambulance to an Indianapolis hospital, were not available Sunday, but both sustained “serious injuries,” he said.

Wheeles said the wreck occurred as Sneed was preparing to merge onto northbound I-65 from State Road 11 at Jonesville and lost control of the 2009 Honda Civic she was driving. The vehicle spun before being hit head-on by the blue 2013 Honda CRV Anthony Bonadonna was driving north.

Wheeles said it is not known if road conditions may have been a factor in the crash, which left the northbound lanes closed for about two hours for the investigation and cleanup.
