Florence M. “Schneider” Ude, 87, of Seymour, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at Schneck Medical Center with her family by her side.
Born May 25, 1929, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Emil and Amanda Pohlman Schneider, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 3, 1950, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Sauers, she married Marvin Floyd Ude, who preceded her in death.
Florence graduated from Brownstown High School and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour. She was a very good cook, made a great chicken soup, chili soup and fried chicken. She loved to be home and always enjoyed being close to family and friends. Family was everything to her.
Survivors include children, Stan (Linda) Ude, Barb (Bernie) Steinkamp and Randy (Kay) Ude; grandchildren, Jordan (Becky) Ude, Brennan Ude, Brett Steinkamp, Bryan Steinkamp, Erin Steinkamp, Kip Ude, Kevin (Kaitlyn) Ude, Nicole (Michael) Warren and Meghan McAllister, two great-grandchildren, Maddox Warren and Macy Warren; brother, Don (Mary) Schneider; sister, Janice (Richard) VonDielingen; two sisters-in-law, Lowima Schneider and Ola Schneider; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman Schneider, Kenneth Schneider and Loren Schneider.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Andy Currao and the Rev. Joseph Barlau, officiating. A graveside service will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
