Donald Trimpe, 58, of North Vernon passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at his home.

Born March 13, 1958, in Seymour, he was the son of Clarence W. and Mary Margaret Rentschler Trimpe, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 3, 1977, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, he married Tamara Jo Freeman.

Don was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving as an usher and also on several committees. He worked in housing construction for Pfaffenberger Construction for two years and then went to work for C. Trimpe Cylinder Bars Inc. as a welder for 38 years, becoming a co-owner of the business. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1976 and attended Vincennes University. His hobbies included fishing and remodeling.

Besides his wife of 39 years, Tami, he is survived by a daughter, Cicily Fortin; a son, Jacob Trimpe; grandchildren, Alexander and Cole Fortin; sisters, Beverly (Tom) Rust and Dorothy (Dan) Schepman; brothers, Ralph (Susan) Trimpe, Roger (Susie) Trimpe and Robert (Kim) Trimpe; and many niece and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Revs. Ralph Blomenberg, Philip Bloch and Jimmy Rodriguez and Vicar Joel Newton officiating.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel in Seymour and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Daycare, Immanuel Lutheran School or Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery.
