Tipton closing for three-day rail crossing project

The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to close a portion of Tipton Street (U.S. 50) in Seymour for three days next week while railroad crews make crossing repairs.

CSX maintenance personnel have been scheduled to begin repair work at 7 a.m. Wednesday — weather permitting. INDOT anticipates reopening U.S. 50 at the rail crossing Jan. 14.

Meanwhile, motorists will be detoured around the U.S. 50 closure via State Road 11/Broadway Street, State Road 258 and Community Drive.
