Dorothy L. Sebastian, 77, of Crothersville, passed away peacefully at 3:10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.

Born Oct. 22, 1939, in Scottsburg, she was the daughter of Raymond Terrell and Wilma Richey Terrell, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 6, 1956, in Crothersville, she married Ed Sebastian, who survives in Crothersville.

Dorothy retired from The Peoples Bank after working there for 28 years. She was a 56-year-member of Austin First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. Dorothy was a very talented crafter and enjoyed quilting, making ceramic dolls, decorating and painting eggs of all types, crocheting, knitting and fishing. Dorothy and Ed enjoyed vacationing in Florida for years after retirement spending winter months with family and friends.

Other survivors include two children, a daughter, Wanda (Dan) Dorsey of Crothersville and Billy (Jessica Fleetwood) Sebastian of Brownstown; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Jamie) Hall of Crothersville, Brandie Regen of Crothersville, Eric Sebastian of Seymour, Kyle Eder of North Vernon, Lana Thomas of Bedford, Phillip (Brandi) Thomas of Scottsburg, Justin Dorsey of Crothersville and Jason Dorsey of Seymour; 15 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, John Terrell of Scottsburg, Gene (Marilyn) Terrell of North Vernon, Shirley Terrell of North Vernon, Wanda (Jeff) Robbins of Greenwood, Sheila (Jim) Gibson of Indianapolis, Cheryl (Paul) Stultz of Indianapolis and Paula (Darren) Harmon of Madison; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Terrell of Scottsburg.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Sue Thomas, and a brother, Jim Terrell.

Pastors David Culley and Jerry Johnson will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville. Burial will be at Crothersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday.

Memorials may be given to Austin First Baptist Church or Alzheimer’s research.
