Mary L. Kozik, 93, of Seymour died at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at her home in Seymour Place. She had been ill for about two weeks.

Born Nov. 10, 1923, in Norman, she was the daughter of Lester Travis Foster and Agnes Ann Sovern Foster, both of whom preceded her in death.

She worked at Dage Electric Co. in Beech Grove, and it was there that she met and married Arthur R. Kozik on March 13, 1954. He preceded her in death Feb. 16, 2002.

Together, they moved to California, and she started working at Lear Seigler Corp. and from there went to William Brand Wire & Cable Corp., making harnesses for the first moon shot. She was awarded a Precision Solderer certificate on May 2, 1962, from Computer Equipment Corp., Specialists Hybrid Systems.

She also worked in real estate for a short time in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was an Avon representative. She and her husband retired from California in 1985 and returned to Vallonia.

Mary was a member of Vallonia Christian Church and also attended Seymour Christian Church.

Survivors include a stepson, Rudy Russell Kozik; two brothers, Bill Foster and George Foster; two sisters, Irene Cole and Virginia Boling; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Richard Douglas Kozik, and a brother, Gene Foster.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home with Chris Criminger officiating. Burial will be at Vallonia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service. 

Memorials may be given to Vallonia Christian Church.
