Blue Christmas service planned at Rockford

Five churches have planned a “Blue Christmas” service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Rockford United Methodist Church on North State Road 11 in Seymour.

For those who will struggle to celebrate this Christmas due to pain or hurt of any type, this service will offer understanding, hope and healing, according to a news release from Pastor Mike Seaney with Trinity United Methodist Church in Seymour.

The guest preacher will be Tyler Best, a young layperson from Pfrimmer’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Corydon.

An opportunity for refreshments, conversation and personal prayer will follow the service.

The congregations of Bethel Community Church, the Rockford and Trinity churches and First United Methodist Church in Seymour and Ogilville United Methodist Church are serving as hosts for the service.
