CROTHERSVILLE

Helen Lucille Greathouse, 91, of Crothersville, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at her home.

Born Dec. 21, 1924, in Deputy, she was the daughter of Berlie Curtis and Nancy Opal Mayer Dart. On Nov. 12, 1940, she married James Cecil Greathous, who preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1989.

Helen was a member of Crothersville Church of the Nazarene. She liked to read cookbooks and was an excellent cook.

Survivors include three children, Carol (James) Anthony of Crothersville, Curtis (Marie) Greathouse of Marengo and Mark Greathouse of Crothersville; daughter-in-law and caregiver, Kim Greathouse of Crothersville; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Earl Greathouse; a granddaughter, Amber Dawn Greathouse Graves; a brother, Lawrence Dart; and a sister Doris Applegate.

Pastor Irvin Benge will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville. Burial will be at Crothersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday.

Memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Jackson County.
