House Speaker Brian C. Bosma, R-Indianapolis, recently appointed state District 69 Rep. Jim Lucas, R-Seymour, as assistant majority whip and vice chairman of the House Committee on Government and Regulatory Reform.
The speaker appoints committee chairs and caucus leaders biennially after each election.
