NORTH VERNON

Melvin Eugene “Gene” Kimbler, 64, of North Vernon died at 4:47 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Strong Kimbler of North Vernon; a son, Shane Kimbler of North Vernon; two daughters, Lori Fields and Kristy Carpenter, both of North Vernon; his father, Carl Clinton Kimbler; two brothers, Steve (Trudy) Kimbler and Leslie Kimbler, both of Edinburgh; a sister, Sharon Kimbler of Edinburgh; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service.
