HENDERSONVILLE, North Carolina

Jeffery Lee Kick, 63, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at The Elizabeth House.

He was the son of Henry and JoAnn Kick, both of whom preceded him in death.

Jeffery graduated from West Springfield High School in 1971 and served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. After military duty, he lived in Fairfax, Virginia, and worked at Walter Reed Memorial Hospital. From there, he moved to Chicago, Illinois, got married and had two children and served as regional manager for American Studios for more than 30 years. He then retired to Hendersonville, North Carolina, where he enjoyed working in the garden center of The Home Depot for 10 years.

Jeffery loved to cook, read and listen to music and was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs.

Survivors include his two children, Meredith Kick of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Dustin (Cathy) Kick of Seymour; a brother, Jerry (Teresa) Kick of Lawrenceville, Georgia; a sister, Darcy Witaschek of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tom Witaschek.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be at 6 p.m. today at Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service.
