Southern Indiana Center for the Arts is offering a holiday sampler series, beginning Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sampler classes let participants experience different types of art projects to determine if one might be something they would like to explore further.

Preregistration and prepayment ($75) will be required to ensure your spot and supplies are available. SICA members receive a 20 percent series discount. Class size is limited to 12.

The deadline to register is 5 p.m. Friday.

Here is the class schedule:

  • Tuesday: At the center’s pottery barn facility, students will learn about pottery making and create a petal bowl, glazing the piece in their choice of color. Betty Johnson is the instructor.
  • Nov. 15: Amanda Neal will help students make a beaded bracelet. She has been designing jewelry for several years and has taught previous classes at the arts center.
  • Nov. 22: Students will experience glass painting. A Thanksgiving or snowman pattern will be available. Darnell Dukes will guide you through this reverse painting project.
  • Nov. 29: Paul Sullivan will lead students through the process of making a sustainable angel. Made from recyclables, the angel is approximately 12 inches high.
