Donald W. “Frenchie” French, 75, of Seymour died Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at his home.

Born March 1, 1941, in Seymour, he was the son of Donald B. and Bernice Maschino French, both of whom preceded him in death.

Don was retired from Cummins Engine Co. and was a member of the Diesel Workers Union. He was a woodworker in his garage in his spare time.

He was a loving father and grandfather and is survived by his soulmate of more than 30 years, Lovelita “Lity” Johnson of Seymour; three sons, Johnny (Mary) French, Randall (Sharon) French and Darin French; two sisters, Clara Imlay and Mary Vandiver; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Hare, and brothers-in-law, David Imlay and Joe Vandiver.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Reddington Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to Reddington Christian Church or donor’s choice of charity.
