Seymour grad earns conference honor

Franklin College sophomore Karen Dringenburg earned All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors for her efforts on the women’s tennis team this fall.

Dringenburg of Seymour shared team-high honors with Rachel Rose by earning eight singles victories while playing on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts, respectively.

They both had 5-3 records in HCAC matches.

Then, the duo combined to post an 8-2 record in No. 1 doubles matches, winning six of seven league matches.

Overall, Dringenburg contributed to 16 doubles victories and had a team-high 24 total victories to earn all-conference honors for the second straight season.

Franklin tied for third place in the HCAC with a 5-3 league record and reached the semifinals of the conference tournament. The Grizzlies posted an overall 7-6 dual meet record.
