Adults and teens are invited to read books and attend one or all of these free Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups in October.

The books are available to check out at the library checkout desks.

On the second Friday of each month, the Book’s Night Out group meets in a restaurant to discuss its monthly book. Led by information services assistant Janet Hensen at Tokyo Hibachi and Sushi, 1519 E. Tipton St., Seymour, the group will discuss “The Widow” by Fiona Barton at 7 p.m. Oct. 14. Everyone attending should bring money if they plan to eat.

The October book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets the third Wednesday of each month, will cover the book “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson at 6 p.m. Oct. 19.

Led by volunteers Ann Schwein and Sharon Kamman, Fantastic Fiction meets the third Friday of each month. They plan to gather and discuss the book “Little Pretty Things” by Lori Rader-Day at 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at the Seymour Library.

The Medora Library discussion group will meet at 6 p.m Oct. 24 to talk about Lauraine Snelling’s “Heaven Sent Rain.” This group meets the last Monday of each month.

The Seymour Library Books by Night group meets bimonthly and does not meet in October.
