Phi Beta Psi sorority, Theta Omega chapter, recently met at the Community Foundation of Jackson County.

President Jackie Hill presided. Others assisting were Alice Christopher, Jennifer Payton, Jan Robinson, Kristy Gabbard, Dana Byrkett and Janet Cooper.

Chairman Michele Lewis of the fall Hen and Chicks food tent said everything was finalized for the barn market event, which was Sept. 23 and 24.

Chairman Natasha Miller of the food table from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Pink Wagon Market at Celebrations called a meeting with her committee. The sorority will serve breakfast and lunch.

Cooper and her co-chair, Beckie Anderson, stated the fall bingo, featuring Longaberger baskets, Thirty-One bags and gift cards, will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Seymour American Legion. A Christmas theme will be used.

Members should note the Nov. 14 business meeting will be one week earlier than usual in order to set up for the event.

The Feb. 4 dance committee, Brykett and Hill, co-chairs with Melissa Krawchison, Stephanee Roberts and Robinson, are seeking names of high school seniors as queen contestants.

Rachel Rust and Kalee Alberring stated the fourth annual Chicago bus trip will be scheduled in May 2017 rather than this November. Alberring distributed sorority T-shirts and also took more orders.

A few corrections and additions were made to the new book pages being distributed by the president.

Delegates selected from the state delegate list were Joan Trimpe and Angi Reynolds. They will be Theta Omega representatives at the 92nd annual state convention Oct. 21, 22 and 23 at the Lexington Airport Hotel in Indianapolis.

Mary Reynolds won the THETO prize.

Hill was surprised with a mini birthday cake at the conclusion of the meeting.

The next meeting will be a Halloween party at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at the home of Robinson.
