Cougars topple Warriors

Trinity Lutheran claimed a 239-260 win against Christian Academy of Indiana at Shadowood Golf Course.

Demi Oakes won medalist honors with a 50 to lead the Cougars. Macy Taylor carded a 59, Morgan Gabbard added a 61, Anna Benter shot 69 and Cameo Hildreth had a 71.

GIRLS SOCCER

Hat trick leads Trinity

GREENWOOD — Chloe Criswell scored three goals in her first high school soccer appearance to lead Trinity Lutheran to a 5-2 win at Greenwood Christian Academy.

Sidney Hoene and Maddie Bell also scored goals for Trinity, which outshot Greenwood Christian 17-9. Hailley Peters recorded four saves.

The Cougars (2-6) play Thursday at Brown County.

VOLLEYBALL

Hornets top Arlington

MEDORA

The Medora volleyball team swept Indianapolis Arlington 25-16, 25-20, 25-17 on Tuesday.

On the attack, Katie Stewart led the Hornets going 34 of 47 with 11 kills while teammate Kailen Flynn finished 15-for-19 behind four kills.

Destiny Barr led the Hornets service game, converting 20 of 21 attempts with five aces. Both Flynn and Katie Besely served two aces each.

Medora (2-5) plays Thursday at Orleans.

BOYS TENNIS

Braves pick up MSC win

CORYDON

Brownstown Central’s boys tennis team defeated Mid-Southern Conference foe Corydon Central 4-1 on Tuesday.

The Braves saw success at doubles with a pair of wins.

Sy Zickler and Sam Hoff showed a dominating performance against the Panthers’ Cameron Allen and Tristan Kaiser, as they won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1.

The duo of Gunnar Zickler and Jackson Lahrman defeated Corydon’s Jake Fields and Zeke Hansen 6-3, 7-6 at number two doubles.

BC’s Ethan Carlin topped Corydon’s Shaun Showalter 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

The Braves’ Ethan Wischmeier dropped his match 6-4, 3-6 to Corydon’s Max Glordan at No. 3 singles.

Luke Cobb lost the first set 6-1 to Corydon’s Clayton Shreck 6-1, but won the second set 6-4 at No. 1 singles.

In the third set, Cobb lost to Shreck 6-3.

Thursday, the Braves (4-3, 3-2 MSC) will host Bedford North Lawrence.
