Want to be a prince, princess? Enter contest

Beta Kappa chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and the Special Education Parents Advisory Council is sponsoring the 2016 Seymour Oktoberfest prince and princess contest.

All boys and girls who are residents of Jackson County and between the ages of 6 and 10 before the Oktoberfest are eligible to enter this contest. This 44th annual festival is Sept. 29 through Oct. 1.

The winning prince and princess are determined by who raises the most money. All contestants who turn in money will receive prizes and be eligible to ride in the parade.

The crowned prince and princess each will receive a bicycle provided by Beta Kappa and other prizes.

The deadline for all applicants is Sept. 10.

Applications may be picked up at Old National Bank or the mayor’s office at Seymour City Hall; online at seymouroktoberfest.com; or by contacting Barb Neville at 812-522-9863 or Beth White at 812-445-3815 after 6 p.m.

Funds raised by this project will benefit various Beta Kappa philanthropic projects and ways and means. Some of the annual projects are Jackson County United Way, Community Provisions of Jackson County, Reins to Recovery Inc. Therapeutic Riding Center, SEPAC special education school fund, Clarity Cares, Anchor House Family Assistance Center, Camp Riley for handicapped children, Easter Seals and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
