GIRLS GOLF

Cougars third at tri-meet

SCOTTSBURG

The Trinity Lutheran girls golf team combined for 234 strokes in a tri-meet with Henryville and Scottsburg on Friday at Westwood Golf Course.

Henryville won the competition by posting 193 while Seymour shot 222.

The Hornets’ Kennedy Easton claimed medalist with a 42.

Macy Taylor shot the low for the Cougars with a 53.

Morgan Gabbard was one stroke behind at 54, Demi Oakes shot 59, Anna Benter recorded 68 and Cameo Hildreth totaled 70.

Trinity Lutheran will play Oldenburg Academy at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.

Zabor leads Braves

BROWNSTOWN

The Brownstown Central girls golf team carded a 209 against Salem on Friday at Hickory Hills Golf Course.

Emma Zabor shot a team-low 43.

Salem’s Loralee Potter, the lone visiting golfer, carded a 51 on the day.

Brownstown’s Regan Campbell shot 49, Shelby Stuckwisch recorded 55, Breonna Bottorff totaled 57 and KaCee Collins had 58.

The Braves will host New Albany on Monday.

VOLLEYBALL

Owls down Cougars

The Seymour volleyball team posted a 28-26, 25-16, 26-20 win againstĀ  Bloomington North on Thursday.

Jessica Blevins pounded 23 hits with 10 kills while teammate Addie Rudge had 23 and seven.

As a team, the Owls went 98 of 108 with 37 kills.

Hannah Sipe led the Owls’ serving, finishing 19-for-20 behind four aces.

Today, the Owls (1-1) will play at a tournament hosted by Columbus East.
