The first Harmony Que barbecue competition will be conducted today at Harmony Park in Seymour.

All proceeds and donations from the event will go to support the Schurman-Grubb Memorial Skatepark and Todd’s Place Transitional Housing.

Cooking will begin at noon with judging at 6 p.m.

People’s Choice tickets are $10 per person, which allows a 2-ounce tasting of each team’s entry.

Live music will be performed throughout the event by local musicians, including Lom Win, Jimmy Davis, Hot Rod Daddy Rick Wilson and the Payton Brothers.

T-shirts will be sold for $10 to $12, and smoked pulled pork sandwiches will be available at 7 p.m. for $5.

Harmony Park is an outdoor music venue located next to The Brooklyn Pizza Co. and Flying Pink Pig BBQ on West Second Street.
