Community baby shower planned at FairOaks Mall

The March of Dimes plans to celebrate south central Indiana families with a Community Baby Shower on Saturday at the main entrance of FairOaks Mall in Columbus.

The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Expectant parents, new parents and families are encourage to attend. Attendees may participate in a variety of classes, including breastfeeding, smoking cessation, nutrition, baby wearing and more.

Additionally, in an effort to correct the high number of infant deaths pertaining to unsafe sleep practices, everyone is encouraged to sign up for a safe sleep class. Participants will receive an infant survival kit, which includes a Graco Pack-n-Play, a wearable blanket, a pacifier and take-home recommendations.

The March of Dimes is the nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health.
