Church offers course on handling finances

Immanuel Lutheran Church plans to offer a Financial Peace University course starting next month.

The first session will be at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 18 at the church at 605 S. Walnut St., Seymour.

Financial Peace University is operated by syndicated columnist Dave Ramsey and is designed to teach families and individuals how to handle their money through common-sense principles and small-group accountability.

Lessons include budgeting, relationships and money, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing.

After each lesson, the group meets in smaller groups to help and encourage each other, plan budgets and discuss successes and temptations.

For information or to register, call the Rev. Jimmy Rodriguez at 812-522-3118.

The cost is $93 for a kit that includes a workbook, textbooks, forms and access to information on the Financial Peace University website.
