Swinging away: Dr. ‘Bud’ golf scramble results announced

The team of Jason Bukowski, Joie Bukowski, Jami Parks and Roger Chasteen combined to score 55 and place first in the 36th annual Dr. “Bud” Graessle Golf Scramble on June 29 at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour.

Warren Forgey, the scramble’s chairman, recently reported that 164 golfers participated in the event, which during the past 36 years has awarded more than $510,000 from the Dr. “Bud” Nursing Scholarship Fund.

The following teams were awarded golf prizes:

First: (55) Jason Bukowski, Joie Bukowski, Jami Parks and Roger Chasteen.

Second: (57) Jeff Olsen, Lenny Ziegler, Brenda Gridley and Tony Prickel.

Third: (59) Justin Birk, Andy Cress, Erik Fromm and Mitch Herring.

Fourth: (59) Dr. David Laitinen, Bill Bevers, Al Brittingham and Jerry Mincy.

Fifth: (60) Tony McKinney, Duke Hampton, Chuck Brackemyre and Ian McPherson.

Sixth: (61) Ken Valente, Steve Frakes, Rick Meyer and Rex Meyer.

Seventh: (61) Brandon Goecker, Dr. Barry Downing, George Covey and Daniel Willaert.

Other awards:

Longest drive women (ninth hole): Cara Stuckey

Longest drive men (18th hole): Trey Pfund

Closest to pin women (13th hole): Lisa Zike

Closest to pin men (second hole): Tony Prickel

Longest putt women (fifth hole): Janelle Smagala

Longest putt men (fifth hole): Duke Hampton

All proceeds from the golf scramble provide scholarships for registered nursing students in Jackson, Jennings, Scott and Washington counties.
