Hickory Hills Golf Club will present musical guests El Camino and Shannon Lawson from Nashville, Tennessee, from 4 to 10 p.m. Aug. 6 as part of “Bogey Boogie.”

The event is the first of its kind at the semi-private golf course southwest of Brownstown on State Road 135, said Matt Smith, president of the board of directors.

In the past, the board has conducted successful auctions to raise funds to support operations of the nonprofit club, which provides a golfing complex for the Brownstown Central high school and middle school teams, members and the public.

“This year, we decided to go in a different direction and create an event that will hopefully encompass not only golfers but the entire community,” Smith said.

Pre-sale tickets to the event are $40 for one or $70 for a couple and are available until July 31. The cost includes a meal, the live performance and access to a beer garden that will be on site. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Business sponsorships are available until Monday.

No outside food or drinks will be allowed in the event because of law. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, and a dance area will be available.

Event shirts and coozies are available for pre-order. You can specify shirt size and quantity when you buy your tickets.
