
Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge’s Golden Birthday Party will be Sept. 17.
Activities planned at the refuge at 12985 U.S. 50 East, Seymour, include:
- A bird walk at 7:30 a.m.
- “Passport to Nature”
- Memorabilia
- Special guests
- A walk down memory lane
- Lunch and birthday cake
The refuge was established in 1966 to provide resting and feeding areas for waterfowl during their annual migrations. The refuge includes 7,724 acres near Seymour and a 78-acre parcel, known as the Restle Unit, near Bloomington.
The refuge mission is to restore, preserve and manage a mix of forest, wetland and grassland habitat for fish, wildlife and people.
