Cooperative raising money for National Guard families

CountryMark plans to conduct a fundraiser for the Seymour National Guard Family Readiness Group from noon to 5 p.m. Friday.

The eighth annual Fueling Freedom event will be at the cooperative’s stations at 1300 W. Commerce St., Brownstown; 5307 E. U.S. 31, Crothersville; and 103 Community Drive, Seymour. Forty-three stores in Indiana, Illinois and Ohio have agreed to participate in the program.

For every gallon of fuel pumped at those stations during the event, CountryMark will donate 50 cents to the Seymour National Guard Family Readiness Group. During the 2015 Fueling Freedom event, CountryMark raised an average of $1,400 from each station. In 2015, total collections from all stations were $54,000.
