STEPS Dance Center students showcase routines

The dancers of STEPS Dance Center in Seymour recently completed their second annual showcase.

The event included classes of dance students ranging in ages from 3 to 18 demonstrating styles of hip-hop, variety combination, jazz, tumble/dance combination, soloists and tiny tots.

The Sparkle Performance Prep Team also participated in the showcase. The team, created to function as community performance representatives, has participated in the Oktoberfest parade; at halftime of a Seymour High School basketball game; the Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce’s Downtown Christmas; and at Schneck Medical Center’s Wellness Expo.

The team of dancers ranging in age from 8 to 12 also competed in one regional event.

A summer session of classes recently began, and those students will perform July 25 at the pavilion during the Jackson County 4-H Fair.
